Five on Friday

I have been looking forward to Friday.....for many reason! One of them being 5 on Friday and linking up with Darci from The Good Life Blog and Natasha from Hello Happiness Blog. Here are my random thoughts/events of the week.

1.  We celebrated the 100th Day of School! Naturally, we had to dress up as 100 year old teachers for our first graders.

TA DA....100 years old!

My best 100 year old pals!
Classy, Sassy, and a bit Smart-Assy :)

 2.  My team and I met this week to start developing our K-4 Standard-Based report cards. We kicked butt in this meeting! It's so exciting to be well on our way to school-wide Standards Based grading! You might have to be a teacher to understand my excitement. :)
Yes, What exactly!!
Dream Team of Standards-Based Report Cards!!! BAM!
3.  I know everyone posts about the weather. I see it on Facebook all of the time and here I am jumping on the bandwagon. First and ONLY weather post complete.
That's ridiculous!
4.  On my desk is the spring 31 catalog....just staring at me. Daring me to buy something.
OPEN ME....BUY BUY BUY
I love these bags. The prints, the sizes, and they make great gifts. I have quite a collection of these bags so I don't exactly need any of them.
Perfect for camping....
Perfect for school...
Perfect for the car..

But they are SO hard to resist!!

5. Little Buddy and Little Furry Buddy tea party.
Adorable!

Have a fantastic weekend!! Stay Warm :)

Five on Friday

This is my first time doing the 5 on Friday!!! I'm attempting to link up with Darci from The Good Life Blog. It's my understanding that I can post about any 5 random things. Here she goes....

THE GOOD LIFE BLOG

1.  I'm in a 90-day challenge. I need to choose one thing at home and one thing at work that I can do daily for the next 90 days. This seems way more manageable than making New Years Resolutions! My 90-day challenge at home is making my bed. I know it's lame. I know I'm adult and I should make my bed....but I don't. So here is proof that 3 days into my 90-day challenge I am still going strong. Bed is made.

2.  This is my current project ~ I attempted a photo wall.
I have NO idea what I'm doing!! Darn Hobby Lobby!

This is how it currently looks...please look past the unfilled frames, doorbell, and smoke detector!

3.  This is my next project. We moved into this house in the fall and our 3 season room was not a priority with all of our unpacking. I am now anxiously awaiting warmer weather so I can turn this into a bright, sunny, colorful room!
dreary and....

cold.
4. I am a newbie to Netflix. I don't typically sit down and watch TV. I'd rather read or be on Pinterest, Facebook, blogs, etc. Anyway, the hubs and I are about 5 episodes in to Orange is the new Black. I LOVE IT!!
5.  Last, but not least....there is NO WAY I can blog about 5 things and not include Little Buddy. #heartismelting
Love her little face.

Calling Grandpa

This was fun.....and SO random! Have a fantastic weekend!!!

Sneak Peek in my classroom

My initial thought was to create this blog as a teacher blog and share ideas. I am now several posts in to my new blogging adventure and I haven't even posted one teacher related post. #teacherblogfail. My teacher friends and I realize we spend way more time at school than we do at home so we have truly poured our hearts into creating fun and unique classrooms down to the last detail. These two are the most dedicated and creative teachers I know and I am so excited to give you a sneak peek into our classrooms. Prepare for photo-overload.

Welcome to my classroom!
I can NOT keep  a clean desk!
These are just a few fun items on and around my desk. I love owls and bright colors...and chevron!

Word wall, book baskets, cafe menu, and sight words...oh my!

Single Mom Week!

I made it through the week! This is the week that the Hubs was going out of town for a technology training and Little Buddy, Little Furry Buddy and I were on our own. I hate being home alone at night....to the point where I have a baseball bat in my bed and I'm up 50 times a night. I'm not use to this house (and the noises) and I don't live in town anymore, which means no handy neighbors to run to in an emergency. Thank goodness there were no emergencies! The week went a little like this...

We helped dad pack...and by help, I mean stole his hat and his slippers/shoes.

Dad had one more night to show Little Buddy videos before bed and he was off to San Diego for the week. They cuddle like this every night. We read tons and tons and tons of books during the day so I feel zero amount of guilt when they watch Wheels on the Bus at night. It's the perfect snuggle time.

After the Hubs left, I did what any other adult would do....call their mom and dad :) My parents made the 3+ hour drive to spend Sunday with us. Bless their hearts. They brought Little Buddy new pajamas and they must have known I was not looking forward to the upcoming week alone, they brought me a new pair of jammies as well. Love them!

They left later that afternoon and I loaded Little Buddy up in the car and drove to my peep's house for a little Superbowl party! We were also on the hunt for supper as the household cook was not around.
Supper! SCORE!!!!!

Little Buddy had a great time playing with her daycare friend, baby D. He's adorable. Simply adorable.

The workweek was a little hectic!! There was many items on the to-do list; work, grad school, daycare drops and pickups, cooking, cleaning (just kidding, I didn't clean anything the entire week!) Tuesday, is garbage day. This means I have to walk the garbage can to the end of the driveway....also known as Frostbite Lane. It's cold!!!
Darn garbage day....
We had time to face-time dad.....I am so jealous of the sun!! Little Buddy went crazy when she saw him on the phone.
The week didn't warm up so I bundled up again and took Little Furry Buddy for a walk. Not enjoyable.
How can you not love this face?

I'm freezing...he's happy
There was also lots of cuddles, playing babies, and two little faces following me around every.single.minute. I'm seriously exhausted.
snuggles...my favorite.

feeding baby

mom...mom....mom...mom...mom...oh.my.goodness.

My car accidentally drove to  Caribou Coffee this week...on more than one occasion. You can't just buy for yourself when you work with the BEST teachers/friends. A little cup of coffee can make my entire day. I sent out a text on my way to get coffee and it took about 2.4 seconds for all 4 peeps to respond with their order. It's like Christmas when someone is willing to drive 30 minutes round trip (no lie) just to get coffee.

This is the first time that I have sat down all week and relaxed...of course in my new pajamas! They are SO comfortable!

I enjoyed spending time with Little Buddy this week, but I am so appreciative that the Hubs is on his way home. I miss him. I'm also excited to have hot breakfast tomorrow. :)

ahhhh nuts, I have to feed the dog. I guess my relaxing time is over.

FEED ME!!!!

I'm going to enjoy the weekend having my little family back together. Have a good one ~ thanks for stopping by my little blog. :)
